Stop doing the busywork that doesn't pay you.

I help local businesses get more out of the software they already use: connecting it, automating the repetitive parts, and building small custom AI tools where nothing off the shelf fits.

Keep the software you already use. I make it work harder.

Things I can take off your plate

Not on the list? If it's repetitive and lives on a computer, there's a good chance it can be handled.

Custom software used to be for big companies. AI changed that.

Within reach

What used to need a development team can now be built by one experienced developer working with AI, at a price that makes sense for a small business.

Fast

You can often see a working prototype within days, built on your real paperwork, not a slide deck.

Keeps getting better

Tell me what's off and I fix it, usually fast. What I build keeps up as your business changes, instead of slowly going stale.

What I do

Three ways I can help

Most businesses start with one small, clear win, then add more once they see it working.

Automate & connect your tools

Get the software you already pay for, such as your email, calendar and QuickBooks, working together so the repetitive steps happen on their own.

  • No more copying between apps
  • Reminders and follow-ups that send themselves
  • Works with what you already use

Custom AI tools

When nothing off the shelf fits, I build a small tool shaped around how your business actually works. AI does the reading, writing and sorting in the middle.

  • Built around your workflow
  • Easy enough for anyone on your team
  • Fully documented and yours to keep

Website care

A clear, fast website that stays current without you wrestling with it, set up so search engines and AI assistants can understand what you offer.

  • New site or a refresh of yours
  • Updates without the hassle
  • Easier for customers to find you

A few examples

Starting points, not a fixed menu. Every project is shaped around how your business already works.

Automate & connect

Never lose a job to voicemail

You're busy on a job, the phone rings, and the caller tries the next business on Google. Instead, every missed call gets a quick text back asking what they need and offering a time on your calendar.

Why it mattersThe customer who called you stays your customer.

Custom AI tool

Send the quote before you leave the driveway

Talk through the job into your phone. A clean, branded estimate is drafted for you to review and send, so you're not typing quotes at night.

Why it mattersFaster quotes win more work, and you get your evenings back.

Automate & connect

Bills into QuickBooks without the typing

Forward the email or snap a photo of the receipt. It's read, sorted and waiting in QuickBooks for you to approve, all at once.

Why it mattersLess time on data entry, fewer mistakes for your bookkeeper to fix.

Automate & connect

Stop chasing unpaid invoices

Polite, well-timed reminders go out on their own. You only step in when one needs a phone call.

Why it mattersMoney comes in sooner, without the awkward follow-ups.

Custom AI tool

An "ask the shop" assistant for your team

Your price sheets, procedures and past jobs become an assistant your staff can ask, so the same questions stop landing on you.

Why it mattersFewer interruptions, and new hires find answers on their own.

Website care

Update your website with a text

New hours, a seasonal special, a new service: send a quick message and the change is drafted for you to approve. No logins, no page builders.

Why it mattersYour site stays accurate, so customers trust what they read.

Why not just use ChatGPT?

Most AI advice tells you to climb the ladder. I'll hand you the top rung.

Getting real results from AI takes skills most owners don't have time to learn: writing good prompts, feeding it your information, connecting it to your other software, and setting it to run on its own.

You don't have to learn any of it. What I build either runs quietly in the background or works like any other app on your phone. That's the difference between "trying ChatGPT" and actually getting time back.

Why TLC

Built for how you actually work, by someone local who picks up the phone.

There are three ways to get AI working in your business. Here's how they compare.

Do it yourself

A blank box. You do the learning.

  • Hours of trial and error, on your evenings
  • Rarely connected to your other software
  • When it breaks, you're on your own

Big agencies

Often a template and a ticket queue.

  • Packages made to fit everyone
  • Often priced for bigger companies
  • You talk to whoever's on rotation

TLC Automation

Built for you, and kept working.

  • Works with the software you already use
  • Shaped around how you work
  • A fixed quote before any work starts
  • Fully documented and yours to keep
  • Local. You always talk to me, backed by my AI crew.

How it works

I build it. I look after it. You own it.

1

Talk

A free 20-minute call. I ask four questions (below) and listen. No pitch, no jargon.

2

Build

You get a fixed quote, then a working first version, often within days. We test it on your real work and adjust it together.

3

Look after it

An optional monthly care plan covers hosting, fixes and improvements. Tell me what's off and I take care of it.

4

You own it

Everything I build is documented so anyone could pick it up. The work and your data are yours. No lock-in.

No surprise bills. Every project gets a fixed quote before any work starts. The first conversation is always free.

The four questions I start with

Think about these before we talk. There are no wrong answers.

  1. What do you keep putting off because it's too hard, too expensive or takes too much time?
  2. What do you type by hand that's already written somewhere?
  3. Where do things fall through the cracks?
  4. What would you do with five extra hours a week?

Who you'll work with

Hi, I'm Chris. Decades of building business software, now working with businesses here in Boulder County.

I've spent my career building and maintaining the behind-the-scenes software businesses depend on, the kind that has to keep working for years after it's launched. Now I use AI as a working partner, which lets one experienced developer build what used to take a whole team.

It's me you'll work with, backed by an AI crew I've built. They handle the research, drafting and testing, and I make the decisions and check every piece of work before it reaches you. TLC runs on the same kind of automation I build for clients.

I'd rather work with a handful of local businesses I actually get to know than chase volume. You'll always talk to me, and I'm happy to meet in person.

Plain English

No jargon. If I can't explain it simply, I won't build it.

Real engineering

Built and tested properly, not just stitched together.

Documented & yours

Written up so anyone could maintain it. Never held hostage.

Good questions

Do I need to be good with computers?

No. If you can send a text or snap a photo, you can use what I build. I design around the tools and habits you already have.

Will you replace my software?

Usually not. Most of the time I work with what you already have, like QuickBooks, your email and your calendar, and make it do more for you. If something new would genuinely help, I'll explain why before suggesting it.

Can't I just use ChatGPT?

For answering questions, sure. But on its own it won't text back your missed calls, put receipts into QuickBooks or send invoice reminders while you're on a job. That takes connecting AI to your other software and setting it to run on its own, which is what I do.

How much does it cost?

It depends on what we build. After a free conversation, you get a fixed quote before any work starts, so there's no hourly meter running and no surprise bill.

What happens to my data?

It stays yours. I build on paid business plans from established AI providers, whose terms say your data isn't used to train their AI models, and I'll show you exactly where everything lives.

What if it breaks, or my needs change?

That's what the care plan is for. Tell me what's off and I fix it. Without a plan, you can still reach out for one-off changes, quoted up front.
